The Thorp Arch Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group has a nominal membership of more than 20 individuals, representing a reasonable cross section of the community, but an active, regular membership of about 10 individuals. The Steering Group has met approximately once a month since it was formed. Individual members, or small groups have assumed specific responsibilities in relation to the preparation of the Plan.
Peter is a semi-retired solicitor. Given his legal background, and a willingness to engage with the community, Peter volunteered to Chair the Steering Group! RESIGNED 2016.
Graham is a retired building contractor who started his career in Architecture and has lived in Thorp Arch since 2001. He is an elected member of the Parish Council and wishes to be involved in the future and preservation of Thorp Arch. Graham became Chair in 2016.
Roland is a retired engineer who had a career in manufacturing industry. He and his wife moved to Thorp Arch two years ago to be close to their daughter and family in Tadcaster. Roland had experience of developing a Neighbourhood Plan in Cheshire before his move here and joined the steering team in 2015.
Jane has lived here since 1966 and wishes to help protect the quality of life and community spirit of Thorp Arch.
Sheila has lived in Thorp Arch for more than 32 years. During this time she has been very active in village life, being a member of Thorp Arch Parish Council for 16 years. Sheila's involvement in the village gives her an in depth knowledge in helping to prepare the Neighbourhood Plan.
Alison moved to Thorp Arch in 1986 with a young family, having lived in neighbouring villages nearly all her life. During which time they have never failed to appreciate the special nature of our villages and the location on the river Wharfe.
As a member of the Parish Council and Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, Margaret has the future of the village very much in mind.
Richard is a Chartered Surveyor and has been involved with land and buildings throughout his career. He felt that his experience could be of use in the preparation of the Neighbourhood Plan.
